Quench Introduces ANPR-Enabled Autocharge for a Frictionless EV Charging Experience

Pune, India, February 20th, 2025

Quench, a leader in advanced EV charging solutions, has introduced its latest innovation—ANPR enabled Autocharge—designed to simplify and enhance the charging experience for electric vehicle users.

Leveraging Ador’s proprietary Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technology, Quench charging stations automatically identify users based on their vehicle’s license plate. As the vehicle is maneuvering to park at the charger, the ADOR ANPR software uses an ANPR capable camera to identify the customer and pre authorize the charge session. This enables seamless authentication by retrieving the user’s profile from the charge point operator’s database, allowing EV owners to initiate charging simply by plugging in—eliminating the need for a mobile app or manual intervention.

This cutting-edge technology reflects Quench’s core commitment to innovation and delivering a frictionless, user-centric charging experience for India’s rapidly expanding EV market.

Quench is currently conducting pilot deployments of its ANPR-enabled Autocharge feature in partnership with major charge point operators (CPOs) across India. The company also plans to extend this technology to key international markets, including Europe, the Middle East, and Australia.

Ravin Mirchandani, Chief Dream Merchant at Quench, stated:
“As a Technology house, Quench has always been about pushing the boundaries of innovation with its EV charging technology. With EV adoption expanding into deeper parts of India, solutions like ANPR-enabled Autocharge will play a crucial role in ensuring a seamless and efficient charging process for all users.”

Launched in 2020, Quench chargers have already been installed widely in India and across the globe. Quench is powered by German technology, specifically designed for the most difficult conditions on Earth. The company’s products are designed by a group of power electronics specialists who have specialized in battery manufacturing and testing equipment for over 50 years and have been tested to withstand the harsh conditions of both the deserts of Saudi Arabia and the ultra-cold climates of Scandinavia. The company’s battery testing, charging, and lab equipment have been supporting customers in over 75 countries.

Quench is a part of the 115-year-old Ador Group, which is driving India’s energy transition journey with its Battery Testing and Formation Solutions, Cell Assembly Solutions, Hydrogen Power Sources, Clean Air Solutions as well as Road Safety and Traffic Management Solutions.
