Quench Unveils Advanced BESS-Assisted Energy Management System to Address EV Charging Demands

Pune, India, March 19th, 2025

Quench, a pioneer in EV charging technology, proudly announces the launch of its Advanced BESS-Assisted Energy Management System. This state-of-the-art platform integrates grid power, renewable energy sources, and a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) to provide a robust, efficient, and sustainable solution for EV charging infrastructure.

EV fast charging providers globally face two particular challenges with power availability.  In developed economies it can take up to two years to obtain a power connection from a grid once a site has been identified for public fast charging.  In developing countries such as India where power connections are rapidly provided,  constant availability of power is often a challenge (in India close to 10% of the fast charge network is typically unavailable daily due to erratic power supply).

Quench’s Advanced Energy Management System directly addresses both of these challenges by harmonizing grid electricity, renewable energy generation from solar or wind energy and an advanced BESS. This intelligent system stores surplus energy from both the grid and renewable sources, mitigating the variability of renewables while optimizing energy use during peak demand periods. Delivering a consistent 480kW of high-powered charging, the system ensures EV users enjoy a fast, reliable charging experience—even when power supply is not reliable or the grid is unable to provide peak power demand.  A CPO can now work with whatever connection a local grid is able to provide, for example 60KW, and still install a fast charging station that can provide 240KW or even 480KW, supported by a battery wall and an efficient DC/DC charger.

“Our new Energy Management System represents a significant leap forward in EV charging technology,” said Ravin MIRCHANDANI, Chief Dream Merchant of Quench Chargers. “By harmonizing grid power, renewable energy advanced battery storage and an optimized DC/DC charger, we’re not just solving today’s challenges – we’re future-proofing the EV charging experience. This solution not only guarantees a seamless charging experience for users but also supports our broader vision of creating a sustainable, energy-efficient future for India.”

The Advanced BESS-Assisted Energy Management System boasts a range of innovative capabilities designed to meet the evolving needs of the EV market. At its core, the system employs sophisticated algorithms that optimize energy use by intelligently managing available power sources, ensuring maximum efficiency. It supports high-powered charging from 30KW up to 480KW, which can significantly reduce charging times for EV users, enhancing their overall experience. Reliability is a cornerstone of this system, as it leverages BESS to mitigate disruptions caused by power shortages or grid instability, providing a seamless charging experience. Sustainability is also a key focus, with the system integrating renewable energy sources to support eco-friendly transportation initiatives. Furthermore, its scalable design ensures that it can adapt and expand in line with India’s growing EV infrastructure demands, making it a future-proof solution for the market.

Launched in 2020, Quench chargers have already been installed widely in India and across the globe. Quench is powered by German technology, specifically designed for the most difficult conditions on Earth. The company’s products are designed by a group of power electronics specialists who have specialized in battery manufacturing and testing equipment for over 50 years and have been tested to withstand the harsh conditions of both the deserts of the Middle East Region and the ultra-cold climates of Scandinavia. The company’s battery testing, charging, and lab equipment have been supporting customers in over 75 countries.

Quench is a part of the 115-year-old Ador Group, which is driving India’s energy transition journey with its Battery Testing and Formation Solutions, Cell Assembly Solutions, Hydrogen Power Sources, Clean Air Solutions as well as Road Safety and Traffic Management Solutions.
