Dr. Sajid Mubashir heads one of India’s most critical missions in electric mobility. As Scientist‑G at the Department of Science & Technology, he leads the DHI‑DST Technology Platform for Electric Mobility, driving R&D in battery systems, vehicle integration, charging infrastructure, and smart materials. This program brings together government, academia, and industry in consortium projects and centers of excellence to turn technologies into scalable solutions.

He previously worked in the National Automotive Board at the Department of Heavy Industries, shaping home‑grown and collaborative automotive R&D programs through the Home Grown Technology and Collaborative Automotive R&D initiatives.

Dr. Mubashir’s work isn’t academic, it’s systemic. He designs policies that bridge lab research with large-scale deployment, enabling startups and SMEs to take prototype battery and vehicle technologies to market. His guiding belief: India’s EV transformation will succeed only if technology, manufacturing, and standards evolve together.
